Bolton Wanderers are reportedly set to make a four million-pound bid for out-of-favour Tottenham midfielder Giovani dos Santos.
Owen Coyle has seven million pounds to invest from Gary Cahill’s transfer to Chelsea and, in addition to American defender Tim Ream, he has identified a winger as a top priority as he looks to preserve the club s top flight status.
The Mirror reported Coyle is an admirer of dos Santos, who arrived at White Hart Lane from Barcelona in 2008 but has failed to break into the starting line-up.
Bolton have also been strongly linked with a move for Blackburn winger Junior Hoilett, but Spurs boss Harry Redknapp s willingness to sell dos Santos at a reasonable price means the Mexican is the likelier target.
