According to a recent report from Sky Sports News, talks are ongoing between West Ham United and Benfica over Gedson Fernandes potentially making the jump over to East London.
The next few days are said to be crucial as discussions continue, with Everton and Manchester United still floating around as clubs that could potentially throw a spanner into the works.
Personal terms aren’t going to be much of an issue, the report states, but other conditions regarding the deal still have yet to be ironed out – and that includes the required option price. At this moment in time the deal is set to be an 18-month loan with the option to buy, but there’s still a long way to go before all is said and done.
West Ham’s issues so far this season have been clear for all to see, and with the January transfer window being upon us, they simply cannot afford to experience the same kind of problems.
